South kashmir : ioktimes : Thousands of People participated in more than two rounds of funeral prayers held for a militant commander and his associate in south Kashmir on Sunday, whilst at least 13 persons have been injured after forces fired live ammunition on the mourners.
Top Al-Badr commander Zeenat-ul-Islam and his associate Shakeel Ahmad Dar were killed on Saturday evening in a gunfight with forces in the neighbouring Kulgam district.

A mourner told ioktimes that as forces personnel tried to march toward the prayer location (jinazagah) “close to a kilometer from the main Sugan village” some youth threw stones at the forces, fearing they would intercept the funeral procession.
The forces personnel, he said, fired live ammunition at the mourners, leaving at least 12 of them injured.
A police officer mentioned there was no deployment of the police in or around the village however the infantrymen of Army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles covered the area since late Saturday night.
“A women identified as Showki Jan additionally suffered injuries after she was hit by an Army vehicle,” the witness stated.
Some youth additionally threw stones at an army camp in Chillipora village, he mentioned.
A senior police officer, who wished not to be named, said the army deployed its squaddies within the area despite objections by the police.
