National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah Friday welcomed Union house Minister Rajnath Singh’s declaration within the Lok Sabha that the Centre was once competent for holding polls in Jammu and Kashmir.

Replying to a dialogue on the resolution on a presidential proclamation about imposition of President’s Rule in the state, the Union residence minister said the government is equipped for assembly polls but the decision needs to be taken by the Election commission.
“We are completely dedicated to democratic procedure,” Singh stated.
