JAMMU, Dec 24: Over 30 passengers had a narrow break out when a bus skidded off a slippery, icy hill avenue and teetered precariously over a steep gorge in Doda district on Monday, police mentioned.
Locals helped rescue the passengers from the bus, which used to be wedged between two concrete parapets on the winding avenue.
In a scene that might be straight out of a movie, half the car was putting over the gorge at Gatsu village on the Batote-Kishtwar highway in Jammu neighborhood, Bhadarwah extra Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajinder Singh said.
The bus used to be on its way to Jammu town from Padder area of Kishtwar district when the accident took place within the morning, Singh said.
The motive force lost manage of the automobile due to frost on the avenue in the sub-zero temperatures, the ASP said, citing preliminary investigation stories.
The officer told drivers to manoeuvre carefully as most of the roads in the district remain frozen in the course of iciness and come to be slippery.
